Our Freedom Fighters
Those who fought bravely for the country in the liberation war of 1971 are called freedom fighters. We were subjugated (পরাধীন) as a nation for almost 2 eras before independence. The freedom-loving people of this country took up arms to protest the oppression and torture of the West Pakistani ruling group.
Which later turned into bloody war. Farmers, workers, students, teachers, artists, writers and youths participated spontaneously in this war. Not only that, those who could not directly participate in the liberation war, they also came forward to help the freedom fighters in various ways.
The freedom fighters continued to defeat the Pakistani army in guerilla and frontal war. In the first week of December, the Pakistani army was defeated and fled in the face of heavy attack by the joint forces. Finally on December 16, 93,000 soldiers of the Pakistani army were completely defeated and surrendered.
Independent sovereign Bangladesh was born on earth through victory in the war of liberation. Thousands of brave soldiers sacrificed their lives to make Bangladesh free. Bangladesh government has taken various initiatives to honor these brave freedom fighters. We will remember these brave sons of the nation with respect.
অনুবাদ : ১৯৭১ সালের মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধে যাঁরা দেশের হয়ে বীরত্বের সাথে লড়াই করেছেন, তাঁদের মুক্তিযোদ্ধা বলা হয়। স্বাধীনতা লাভের পূর্বে প্রায় ২ যুগ জাতি হিসেবে আমরা পরাধীন ছিলাম। পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানি শাসকগোষ্ঠীর নিপীড়ন আর নির্যাতনের প্রতিবাদে এ দেশের মুক্তিকামী জনগণ হাতে অস্ত্র তুলে নেয়। যা পরবর্তীতে রক্ষক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধে রূপ নেয়।
এ যুদ্ধে কৃষক, শ্রমিক, ছাত্র, শিক্ষক, শিল্পী-সাহিত্যিক, যুবকসহ নানা পেশার মানুষ স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণ করেন। শুধু তাই নয়, যারা সরাসরি মুক্তিযুদ্ধে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারেননি, তারাও নানাভাবে মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের সাহায্য-সহযোগিতায় এগিয়ে আসেন। মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা গেরিলা ও সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে পাকিস্তানি সেনাদের পরাজিত করতে থাকে।
ডিসেম্বরের প্রথম সপ্তাহে যৌথবাহিনীর প্রবল আক্রমণের মুখে পাকিস্তানি সেনাবাহিনী পরাজিত হয়ে পালাতে থাকে। অবশেষে ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর পাকিস্তানি সেনাবাহিনীর ৯৩ হাজার সেনা যৌথবাহিনীর কাছে সম্পূর্ণভাবে পরাজিত হয় এবং আত্মসমর্পণ করে। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে বিজয়ের মাধ্যমে পৃথিবীর বুকে জন্ম নেয় স্বাধীন সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশ।
বাংলাদেশকে স্বাধীন করতে হাজারো বীর যোদ্ধা তাঁদের প্রাণ উৎসর্গ করেছেন। বাংলাদেশ সরকার এসব বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের সম্মানিত করার লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন সময় বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে। আমরা জাতির এই বীর সন্তানদের শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করব
